NEW YORK-Anyone looking to buy jewelry as a Christmas gift might do well to check out the Doyle’s Important Estate Jewelry auction on Dec. 8. With wonderful pieces by prestigious makers such as Cartier, David Webb, and Tiffany & Co, shoppers can acquire unique pieces and sets at potentially great prices.

The sale offers luxurious jewelry spanning the Antique, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Modern eras.

Rings, necklaces, brooches and bracelets set with diamonds, colored stones, jade, natural pearls, and gold with varying prices ranges will probably attract jewelry dealers, so why not cut out the middleman and have a little fun down at the auction house bidding directly?

The price points vary. On the lower range are a pair of Gold and Cultured Pearl Ear Clips for $500-$700, and a Tiffany & Co. Gold and Cultured Pearl Clip Brooch for around the same price. Related Articles

There is also a beautiful Tiffany & Co. Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Citrine Bird on a Rock Brooch. In the late 1950s, Jean Schlumberger was invited to design for Tiffany & Co., creating whimsical and surrealist pieces, incorporating natural and organic forms in his work. The platinum bird is set with 73 round diamonds, accented by a polished gold beak, head feathers and legs, with one small round ruby eye, perched atop one cushioned shaped citrine (estimate: $15,000-20,000).

The auction starts at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Doyle New York, 175 East 87th Street.
