Parade in Palazzos

Have you been eyeing women in flowy floor-length skirts, but then they walk away because they’ve got something glam to do and you realize they’re actually wearing pants? These are palazzo pants. They were worn by liberal ladies in the 1920s, feather-haired femmes the 1970s, and in the early 90s as an elegant counterpoint to grunge’s “elephant pants” . Anyways, they’re all over the place again, proving it’s never too soon for a comeback. They usually come in jersey, silk, and other fluid fabrics that add to the skirt illusion. My favorites are made from bright, bold prints. Though I’m also intrigued by sheer chiffon pairs with built-in shorts underneath. What a cheeky way to beat the heat. They’re not an everyday item so you’ll need confidence to pull this one off. But hey, if you can wear a maxi skirt there’s no reason you can’t try this sophisticated trend. Make sure the pants are high-waisted enough for your shoes to be visible . When done right, palazzos will make shorties look long and graceful. You don’t want to drown in fabric, so pair them with a simple fitted top.  Check out the examples below and show us what you got!
