I know that Coachella has already passed, but luckily there are many more music festivals coming up over the next few months. Dressing for these events can be tricky, especially if you are camping out for a few days. Every venue and every concert is different, but here are some survival tips and wardrobe suggestions!
1. Drink LOTS of water! Especially if the sun is out. Walking around and dancing along can really dehydrate you, so stay hydrated!
2. Wear sunscreen or a hat. A wide-brimmed felt hat or a fedora can protect your face while looking chic. Also a hat can help hide frizzy or unwashed hair on your second or third day.
3. Bring warm clothes for night time. If you know the venue won’t get too chilly, it’s still a good idea to bring a light cardigan or flowy poncho just in case.
4. Wear shoes! Sandals may sound like the best bet but closed-toed shoes are a better option. No one likes getting their toes stomped, so I like to wear cute combat boots or Toms.
5. Bring a small shoulder bag or backpack to carry your essentials, like a camera, cell phone, cash, and water bottle.
Hopefully these tips help you survive festival season! Now for the wardrobe… I have been finding some ridiculously adorable outfits that can easily be converted from day to night, making them perfect for weekend festivals. But these pieces are so cute and comfy that you can wear them anytime, anyplace!

From hair feathers, to floral patterns, to pretty much fringe-everything, bohemian-chic is back in a big way. Just look at the gorgeous Free People summer lookbook and you’ll know what I’m talking about! Unfortunately, Free People’s line is a little outside my price range, so I have found some lovely alternatives at Forever21 and Nasty Gal . Enjoy!
