Did you love Alyssa Campanella’s emerald green Miss USA evening gown? We hope so! It was exclusively designed by Sherri Hill for the occasion. And in a recent interview with InStyle, Hill broke down what made the gown so special: ”Alyssa broke all ‘pageant rules’ by wearing an unusual high fashion design,” Hill told InStyle.com, “and choosing emerald green for competition rather than a more traditional pageant color.”
The bodice of the dress, (all of which was custom-made), was crafted with French beads, sequins and Swarovski crystals on tulle, while the skirt was made with silk taffeta and horsehair, which gave it a stronger, more architectural shape.
